The Shack Beach Cafe is the best place to visit in Dewata,Galle
The shack Beach cafe ‘ is more than just a random cafe on the beach! simply put ! What started off as a small scale cafe back in 2015, founded by 2 Gents from the UK has grown in to a full fledged cafe and more within a span of 5 years.
Hidden away from the bustling city of Dewata, Galle City in the southern corner of the island and is perfectly set in the middle of the dewata beach stretch is just a few kilometres away from the city of Galle or pinnaduwa Highway exit on the Southern Highway towards the Galle city
It has become very popular among the expats living in the vicinity so don’t be too surprised if you see a packed house most of the evening times,With so many things that you can do There is never a boring time when you are at the shack without a doubt, Especially With the musical events that happens from time to time has garnered it self a massive popularity among the locals from the area as well as from the capital City of Colombo it self.
As the sun rests in the Indian ocean it sets the mood right for a perfect romantic getaway in the southern coastal area of sri lanka. Take a dip in the shallow sea waters or give it a try on the surfing boards,sip on your favorite cocktails,try out their extensive menu not forgetting with the latest thin crust pizza varieties by the shack pizzeria makes you feel that its is just what you have been craving for.from the kitchen to the table, shack has managed to add its own magical touch into every detail of the cuisines. Just to name a few Mahi mahi,chicken miris, Steak and Tandoori Chicken pizza are my personal recommendations for your pallets when you are there next time.
i have visited The shack Cafe more than a few times and i have never been disappointed ever,With the two Lodging compartments “ Love Shack” and “Surf Shack” has added that completeness that it was lacking for it to be a fully fledged center of relaxation and a perfect experience. It is an experience that will not leave you for a long time. What’s more” it’s a pet friendly venue so you can take your pet for a walk on the beach but be mindful not to let your pets go astray and disturb the others while you chill in the midst of the magic.
If this is not enough they also have a play area. so if you are up for a game of pool The doors are open always in the play area and if you are bit adventurous you can try the skate ramp and do a few rounds to get your adrenaline flowing
The shack has always been a part of the community , with beach clean ups to providing food to the less privileged kids and folks in the area and shack can really take some pride in itself as an establishment that serves the people in the community.
ever so friendly staff has definitely added their magic to the list of top things about the venue,You are always greeted with a bright smile no sooner you enter the doors of the cafe, They have done well recruiting all the locals from the area to their team and they too seem to be doing an excellent job at what they are doing no matter what.
Long story short shack is a gem of a place on the dewata beach, so if you have not visited yet , Take my word for it , just head down there and you will experience it for yourself if it’s no good (just blame it on me )I must say Thank you and all the best to John and Ben,The two founders . for giving us such an awesome venue for our hospitality industry and may it grow higher and higher is my only hope!
